My best friend Ter (ter369) passed away peacefully this afternoon, at the age of 52. She had been very ill since June, with an extremely aggressive form of uterine cancer. Oh man. Even though I've been steeling myself for this for several months now, when I first knew that this was not the kind of cancer with a progression that had any happy outcome, I ( Read more... )

There's so much I wish I knew how to say. Though I didn't know Ter anywhere near as well as you did, I always felt - literally felt - her strength, her intelligence, her humor and, most of all, her zest come through in her posts and the notes she occasionally sent. The world is a poorer place without her, but I am a richer person for having known her, and somehow that now has to be enough, even though it never can be. I'll always be grateful she shared her friendship with me, and that she also quite literally shared her best friend with so many of us here on lj. You know I send ::hugs:: and that I'm here whenever you need me. Much love, and many thanks for sharing such a beautiful tribute.

Oh, nutmeg3, your tribute here, and on your LJ, is absolutely moving and so fabulous. I know I've said this before, but I am so lucky to have friends such as you; the support and comfort I've been given here is astounding. *Hugs* I like to think that Ter will live on in so many ways because of all the lessons she taught so many of us, about courage and integrity, and living in general.

I like to think that Ter's influence will be felt for a long time to come. Terry Pratchett once said, "...no one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away" - and when I think that Ter may have influenced people she never even met/knew, it makes me happy.

I'd say that's a great way to be remembered. {{{hugs}}}

Thank you - if I have only managed to capture a tenth of Ter's spirit here, I'm happy.

Thank you. I know that Ter always got a good giggle out of that Dan Radcliffe icon you made about being old enough to be his mom. Always made her laugh.

Thank you for sharing your memory of her.

I read her 50 things she'd learned and wished that I had known her to share her joy of travel and the irony known as life.

Wishing you a quick passage of the pain of a much too early separation.

Here's to the joyful memory of her friendship.

Thank you, for reading. I like to think that Ter's 50 things, her spirit, will live on in many ways, for many years to come.
