Today is World AIDS day. It is a time to remember all those that we've lost to this horrible epidemic, a time to reach out a hand to those who our living with this disease, and also a time to resolve to not let ourselves become a statistic. I had dinner with Bernie the other night after the ceremony. We've been friends for so long that talking is no longer really necessary to communicate. When I was young I wanted so badly to look like Buddy Holly that I wore horn rimmed glasses even though I didn't need them. Soon the damn things had made me so nearsighted that I needed glasses! David and I have been in the Bay area to enjoy the World Series. While there, we were distressed to hear about the death of Eddie, a transgendered teen who went to a party dressed as a girl and was beaten and murdered when her physical gender was discovered. David and I are going back to the States tomorrow. We stayed in London to see the debut of his documentary on Donatella on channel 4 (BBC). David keeps hinting that he wants to stop in California and watch the World Series. I called my personal assistant and got tickets for games 4 and 5. He's going to be so surprised!
