So, since my last post about the cactus it has sprouted many more of those branch things. In fact, it looks a little bit like this:

ooo! Follow-up to the cactus mystery!

It is clearly trying to either grow as big as possible and or reproduce. I'm curious to see if the branch will then make it's own branches. Will it stay connected? If it was in the ground would it become like a cactus bush? Will it disconnect and be it's own plant?

Maybe it is trying to protect you, not attack you.

I hope it appreciates the fact I just bought it a nice little tray to stand on with its two potential progeny. Appreciates it enough to let me survive the terrible purge that is to come.
