I passed the MTEL! Whew. And, as it happens, I got a 92 (out of 100). I had my fingers crossed that I'd get the 70 needed to pass. Of course, the grayscale graphic representation which is meant to help me figure out where I had problems was, again, entirely useless as the scale means that "most questions right" appears as a full bar. Finally took the subject portion of the MTEL. Cautiously optimistic -- I think I got at least 70% (and I'm pretty sure I got the two written questions right, and I'm hoping they count more than the multiple choice), which is what I need to pass. So after some deliberation, the roommate and I decided not to leave town, but to tough out the lack of power overnight.
