It's difficult to keep an optimistic view when sending out a book that continues to get rejected. I understand that just about every author has to go through this, a kind of welcoming trial-by-fire, but it's still disheartening. Dreams are a good source of raw stories for me. Because I am part of them, I get a dramatic amount of the emotions and sensations that pure imagination isn't able to produce. Well damn. I've just now realized that I have placed all my metaphorical eggs in one basket. This isn't good in the first place, but also considering that I had a grand total of two eggs, it's even worse. And one egg has just now shown to be a weak little squirt at best ( Read more... )

It's a big step... sent my story out for the first time today. Now I just have to wait 4-6 weeks for a response, good or bad! Simple, right?

Ahh, nothing like a good book to keep you up until 7:30 in the morning.

Whew, nearly two months. A lot has happened, especially in my professional life. To start, I'm getting good news and feedback from the people who have read my children's story.
