Home again, and happy to be here!

Here is the last photo of me from NADWCon2013:

instead of just making t-shirts for the convention they had these 'Hawaiian' shirts made, and I absolutely adore it!

When I left Baltimore I visited biffsbabe for a couple of days, and we saw "Much Ado About Nothing" together in New Jersey.... THEN I went to visit Talimama and saw "Much Ado About Nothing" with her (what can I say? I love that movie and they wanted to go... and we couldn't coordinate our schedules to save our lives).

I visited my cousin in Larchmont after that, he is dying of cancer (they are giving him 2 months to live at this point) and it meant a lot to me to be able to visit him. Here he was a few weeks ago (he is weaker now):

So now I'm home (glad to have the long hot drive home over with!), enjoying seeing my friends: Tomorrow a friend is coming to my house for lunch, on Saturday I'm going w/friends for lunch and a movie in Ottumwa (probably 'Pacific Rim'). It is all low key and a lot of fun after all the running around I'd been doing for the previous three weeks!

Quiet fun stuff:
1. I went to the library when I got home and checked out some silly Marion Chesney romances (which I'll read next when I'm done rereading 'Making Money' by Terry Pratchett).

2. I'm catching up on my DVR, a lot was recorded while I was away (all stuff I love like 'Perception', 'Burn Notice', 'Copper', and 'Masterpiece Mystery').

3. Eating local sweet corn and peaches.

4. Getting my scrapbook caught up with all the photos from my big trip East (see previous post because I posted here at lj before I unpacked all my stuff & got my scrapbook done).

5. Catching up on laundry (yeah, it sounds lame, but I love my washer & dryer... and getting all my clothes clean after traveling for weeks).

Funny thing happened tonight, Clark Gregg (yes, I mean Phil Coulson!) followed me on twitter! I've been followed by Stephen Fry for years (he follows thousands of people who joined twitter early, if any get annoying he will unfollow them... but now days he no longer starts following new people). Now this may seem like no big deal to ... well anyone else but me... but I love it! As a consequence I almost never tweet, because I don't want to accidently tweet something boring/lame/annoying that would make Stephen Fry block me (and now I don't want to scare away Clark Gregg either!). This is the advantage of quiet little pleasures in life, I can get excited about silly stuff like this.

much ado about nothing, nadwcon
