※CANON RELATIONS
♥ Hikaru Shidou; Hikaru is unequivocally one of the most important people in Umi's life. Not only is she practically a sister, she's a pillar (hah, no pun intended) of strength and someone that Umi both admires and resolves to protect at any cost. She worries when Hikaru starts keeping her feelings to herself or taking on everyone else's burdens, but it just makes her more resolved to protect her.
♥ Fuu Hououji; Like Hikaru, Fuu is one of Umi's closest, most cherished friends. They didn't know each other for very long in Cephiro, but Fuu and Umi share a number of things, including a need to protect Hikaru and to fight for what they believe in. Umi also resolves to protect Fuu, as well.

※GOHL HOUSE
♥ Prydain/Replica Riku; One of the first people that Umi met when she got to Discedo. They bonded a bit over both being contrary and a little bratty, when Prydain invited her to stay at the Gohl rowhouse. He's since become someone that Umi trusts wholeheartedly, and a very good friend.
♥ Hayner; Hayner, for Umi, is kind of like that little brother that gets into loads of trouble, but you love him anyway. He's not quite like a guy version of Hikaru, but close. She worries a lot when he's down or gets into trouble, and she'll definitely be there any time to help him out when he's in a pinch.
♥ Namine; Namine has been in the city quite a few times, always in the care of the Gohl house. She's so quiet and sweet that Umi often finds herself treating the girl like a little sister.
♥ Seifer; Not one of her closer friends, but being a Gohl housemate, she counts him as a trusted friend.
♥ Pence; One of the quieter guys in the house, but again, he's a Gohl housemate. Besides, he's a close friend of Hayner's, so she automatically thinks well of him.
♥ Eald'narche; A new Gohl housemate. He has a name that's hard to pronounce and an attitude that goes from calm to smug and back again in a matter of seconds. She's not quite sure what to think of him yet.
♥ Anthy Himemiya; Utena's friend from home. She's very quiet and a little strange, but a friend of Utena's can't be bad by any stretch, right?
※STRAW HATS
♥ Roronoa Zoro; When they first met, Umi thought he was the masked hero from the movies and Zoro thought she was just a little nuts. It hardly seemed like a friendship that was meant to be, but somehow they've stuck it out. Zoro has become one of Umi's most important people in the city, and someone she cares very much for. Admittedly, he makes her worry a lot with his reckless behavior. They've known each other for over ten months now and things have moved from friendly to confusing to awkward to a very pointed "it's complicated."
♥ Sanji; They first met through working together at the Northern Lights, and because he was one of Zoro's crewmates -- but Sanji is another person that Umi counts as one of her most precious friends in the city. He's the kind of guy who always knows what to say to a girl to make her feel special (or embarassed). She's known him almost as long as she has known Zoro, and again, things have turned into a complicated situation. More than anything, she cares about both of them equally, and doesn't want to see them get hurt.
♥ Tony Tony Chopper; When Umi heard that one of the Straw Hats was a...reindeer, of course she thought it was. Well. Really weird. But now that she's talked to him, she thinks he's very sweet and absolutely ADORABLE. (Though if they need an emergency food supply, well...)
♥ Portgas D. Ace; Okay, okay, so he's not a Straw Hat. But he's in the same category, being Luffy's older brother. At first she couldn't believe that the eccentric captain had such a calm brother, but she quickly found that even he had his weird points. Still, she has a lot of respect for him and enjoys talking to him already.
♥ Monkey D. Luffy; Is back for the third time, and just as strange and energetic as ever. Weird as he can be, Umi's glad to have him back, not just for the rest of the Straw Hats but because she thinks he's pretty awesome, too.
※NORTHERN LIGHTS
♥ Shinjiro Aragaki; Umi thinks Shinji-boss-man is pretty wonderful, in that "prickly on the outside" cactus way. She has a lot of respect for him and considers him a pretty good friend. Maybe not someone she'll have a heart-to-heart with, just because that doesn't seem like something he'd do, but she really does like talking to him and working with him.
♥ Sorata Arisugawa; Umi's known Sorata for a pretty long time now. Mostly she looks at sorata as 'that kind of goofy guy she works with,' but she does worry when he does reckless stuff. She does look forward to getting to talk to him or work with him, though -- even if they do end up blowing up generators. Haha.
♥ Anemone; Umi and Anemone work together at the bar. In some ways, they're total opposites, but in others, they're remarkably alike. They get along pretty well, even if they don't talk over the network much.
※OTHERS
♥ Luke Triton; Umi thinks he's absolutely precious and sweet. And a very, very smart kid to boot. She can't imagine living a life like his and she has a good amount of respect for him being able to study that much. To be honest, at times she treats him almost like a little brother.
♥ Yorda; There are, to put it simply, not many people like Yorda in the world. When they first met, Yorda showed her like for Umi by giving her a...bug...as a present. Not terribly fond of the bug, Umi nonetheless became fond of Yorda in a way similar to her fondness for Namine. They're both sweet, a little strange, a little shy. Umi has a lot of respect for her intelligence and her wish to be more independent.
♥ Phoenix Wright; Phoenix Wright seems to be good at collecting underage lolis, and Umi is no exception to this. She thinks he's absolutely wonderful, funny, nice, and a great guy overall. Even if he's extremely awkward and derpy. He's another one that's kind of like an older brother, almost.
♥ Balthier Bunansa; One of the first people Umi met when she arrived in Discedo, Balthier sneakily found out about her birthday when she was new to the city and got her a gift. She looks up to him a lot (who wouldn't? he's a freakin sky pirate!) and might have, at one point, had a bit of an awe!crush on him. He seems to treat her more like a sister, though.
♥ Souji Seta; Umi thinks Souji is pretty awesome. He's kind of quiet, but in that quirky way where he always says something interesting or, on occasion, funny. He's becoming someone that she can trust to talk to and gets concerned when things don't seem to be going well for him.
♥ Yuuko Ichihara; Umi thinks Yuuko is awesome. She always seems to have good advice and insight, too, so she's someone that Umi has come to look up to and admire, in a way, without the lecture-now-ask-questions-later attitude she always got from Clef. She looks up to her in a way.
♥ Luke fon Fabre; They haven't known each other very long, but Luke (II) is a pretty neat guy. She enjoys talking to him, even if they end up acting like total doofs sometimes.
♥ Nunnally; They met when Umi temporarily lost her memories, and the girl was so sweet and forgiving, of course Umi started to like her. She's a little similar to Namine and Yorda in how Umi regards her, but she seems a little more mature.
♥ Fai/Fay D. Flourite; Fai is is a pretty cool guy. eh sparkles lots and doesn't afraid of anything. But really, he has an interesting outlook, that's for sure, and it's kind of refreshing even if most of the time fakesmiles are fake. She'd be interested to hear about the world traveling they've all done sometimes, because he's fun to talk to. Also, tag-teaming Kurogane with teasing is never a bad plan!
♥ Sakura [clone]; ...To be honest, Umi didn't think there was a person in the universe as cute as Hikaru, but Sakura might just come close. She seems so sweet and so dedicated to her friends that Umi can't help but like her.
♥ Rika Furude; A sweet, but kind of strange girl. Umi thinks she's absolutely adorable, but there are definitely times when she says a lot more than Umi would expect, and it throws her for a loop. Sometimes she seems older than she is.
♥ Zuko; Zuko has been in the city three times. The first time, he and Umi were pretty close; the second time as well. This time, they didn't speak much simply because of time, but they work together for morning training in the High School gym. They don't talk a whole lot, but she has a good amount of respect for him. They've even stopped bickering.
♥ Sweden; Another weird country-guy, but he seems pretty good-natured. Very quiet, and he has some strange ideas about furniture, but he's nice.
♥ Yosuke Hanamura; Umi met Yosuke when he was barrelling down a hill stuck in a trash can. Yeah. Needs to be in some kind of perpetual bubble, because he always seems to be in trouble. But he's a friend of Souji's, so he can't be all bad.
♥ Riful; They haven't talked a lot yet, but Umi thinks Riful is pretty cool so far. Very pretty and she seems really sweet. She can't imagine the kind of world Riful comes from, where she's never had sweet food and people just aren't helpful, but overall Riful seems like a very sweet person and she seems like she really wants to take care of herself, so Umi likes her.
♥ Sakon Tachibana/Ukon; Okay, okay, so Sakon has weird priorities and definitely has some creepy moments. But he also has a weird way of being a pretty nice guy, and Ukon isn't too bad either.
♥ Kai Hiwatari; Umi thinks he's pretty cool...kind of quiet, though, and he seems a little standoffish at times. Not to mention, they got all angsty over a word game! But overall he's not so bad.
♥ Miles Edgeworth; Phoenix's wife. Very quiet and standoffish, but from what Phoenix has said, and from what she's seen, he's got a pretty good heart. His clothes aren't that bad, either (although considering the way CLAMP dresses their characters, can this opinion really be a good thing?)
♥ America; Weird and obnoxious, again, but in a less unfriendly way. He doesn't seem to listen well either, and he goes on tangents a lot, but he doesn't seem like a bad guy overall. Just...weird.
♥ Norway; He's kinda weird, especially when he starts talking about faeries and valkyries and stuff like that, but he seems like a good guy, overall.
♥ Honey Kisaragi; Her energy and happiness is definitely contagious, but that's not a bad thing. She says some weird things sometimes, but she's smart and sweet.
♥ Kurogane; In short, she thinks he's kind of a jerk. Granted, the kind where he probably has not-so-bad intentions (like telling her to stop complaining) but totally goes about saying things the wrong way and ends up looking like an ass. On the other hand, he's an amazing fighter, and she's both surprised and impressed by that.
♥ Sai; It's hard to forget certain traumatizing "cat and fish" incidents from last year, but overall Umi...is completely baffled by Sai. She's kind of creeped out by him, but he also has this really weird puppy-like cuteness at the same time. To be honest, she's kind of shocked and impressed that he found that kool-aid too. He isn't EXACTLY someone she'd like to get close to, but at arm's length he might not be so bad. Just creepy.
♥ Gilgamesh; Now HERE'S a guy who doesn't know how to talk to people without coming across as exactly, well, what he is: an egocentric jerk. He's not someone Umi really wants to talk to more than she has to.
♥ Denmark; One of those weirdos who thinks he's a country. Umi still doesn't quite get that, but more importantly, he's loud, obnoxious and doesn't seem to understand the meaning of the word "no". Or of listening to other people. At all.
♥ Prussia; SHOULDN'T EXIST. He's a jerk, basically, and she can't stand him. Although sometimes he has those rare, tiny moments where he acts like he actually has feelings.
