A pair of young men, both of them handsome in an otherworldly way dash past just then one of them looking up and grinning. "Hello there," he calls out a little louder then he needs to.
The second young man who shares Embre's fiery coloring the his sister language makes him laugh. "Ah ah," he says. "What would mother say if she heard you little sister."
This makes Alex laugh his eyes sparkling. "When has she cared about what her family thinks?:
Hee, read my mind. THAT'S what I wanted to mention last night. NPC Blaze all you'd like. :Dembre_flameFebruary 18 2012, 00:32:01 UTC
She turns her glare to her brother. "Mother is not here, and she would not believe it if you told her." Embre knows that's not true. She's never been what her family expected her to be, though no fault of her own.
The comment from Alex stings a little to much. "No. I do not care what you think." She says harshly. "What are you doing in the forest at this hour?"
"And quiet nicely until someone woke me." Embre won't mention this is the only place she can find peace from all the chatter about guides and who's been chosen for whom.
Using his arms to lift himself up into the tree with the branch Embre happens to be sitting on, Alex settles beside her. "If I said I was sorry would you forgive me?"
"Words mean nothing if you do not truly feel them." Embre says with a very bored sounding yawn. "I would have assumed they'd teach you that before you are given charges." She adds with more than a hint of bitterness.
Alex dangles off the branch by flipping around and holding on by his feet. "If I ever get a charge that is....I'm too much of trickster soul my grandmother says."
"Are you a child?" Embre asks snidely as she watches Alex play on the branch. "You are as aware as I am that the eldest in the family must take a charge. It has always been that way."
"Things change," Alex says not moving from his current position, "some times the charge chooses the guide or the guide chooses the charge. You know that."
"Rules are meant to maintain order and are in place for the good of all." Embre doesn't believe her own words for a second, but it's not like she can say it out loud to anyone.

The young woman spits out a line of words in Gaelic that proper young ladies should never ever utter before glaring at the man who woke her.
"Oh." She practically sneers. "You."

"Perhaps." She says coolly as she settles onto a new branch. "But you are not sorry."
