I pulled the padding out of my elbow to see if it fit better, and it did. I will replace the thick padding with quarter inch padding installed directly in the elbow cop. On Tuesday, somebody inadvertantly made apparent that the thick padding on my elbow is pushing the cop off my elbow and not protecting me at all. There's a whopping bruise on my ( Read more... )

I finally got my turkey dinner started, a day late. No big deal. I added blueberries and walnuts to the stuffing, and right now am cooking my orange blueberry cranberry sauce with this marvelous Vietnamese cinnamon from my trip to Penzey's Spice in Portland. Mmm. Informal Sunday Morning Practice

At Aleksii's birthday dinner, Jazod suggested an informal practice this morning to work single sword. It was me, Jazod, a_l_e_k_s_i_i & Hengis. It was a slow start for all of us, though a beautiful sunny morning. I had a hard time getting my head in the game: my armor felt heavy and my arms felt like lead. I got this bottle of Spanish Grenache at either Costco or Trader Joe's, I forget. Anyway, I really like it. It's very fruity, lots of cherry and berry tastes, not too sweet. Peppery. It's probably over the top for a really discerning palate. Not subtle.
