Next Sketch Fest!

Jun 24, 2010 10:08

Our next Sketch Fest is scheduled for July 16-17, noon to noon Alaska time! The Sketch Fest webpage will be awesome. I have mapped out the logic and figured out the database for it, now I just have to sit down and do the slog-work. However, I didn't receive enough donations to put the webpage into my 'paid projects' category, so it won't be ready to ( Read more... )

I second this, I uploaded two and forgot to leave the second one the same name so that it would write over the old picture ( without the watetmark)... D'oh!

LJ may be mayhem and it does drive me crazy, but I think it's better to make move in one go, I think if move is made twice more likely to drop a few people on the way.

If I want a watermark it's easy enough to me to slap on my own. Less digital types can shout up and contradict me on that.

Time spent I don't really see the point of. We are already specifying less than an hour per sketch, no need to turn it into a race. In fact if everyone started doing great sketches and saying they only took ten minutes I might just slink away and not take part any more out of feelings of inadequacy.

"2 seconds!" ;) I can see your point, and I tend to forget how much time I've spent on them after the first few.

I think you are right about making the move in one go as well. I think part of the attraction for some folks is the fact that they can post without having to log-in. Of course they might feel differently if it wasn't LJ they would have to join, but I like to tell everyone that they don't ahev to log in to post stuff.

I only really want a PA watermarking option, since there is a lot of text on that, and I forget the wording half the time. :)

I just voted in the poll to move the sketch fest to the forums, but I think Valdary is right, we could lose people along the way.

I think this feature would need a more detailed description, among other things involving the word "option", because I would not like to be forced to have my image auto-watermarked. ;)

Ellen, how much more do you need to make this jump into the paid project pile? Also, was I just imagining that you said that you would accept EMG credits for it as well?

D'oh! If I tried reading the last post again, that would have answer my question! :p *wondering when her credit for the EMG Framing Tutorial will kick in*

$193.50 would move this into 'paying the bills' territory - I figure that gives me about half of what I'd make if I were actually billing this out, and I can do that for a project I like this much. :)

Excited about the next sketch fest, and wishing I wasn't a very poor student.... just wait until I'm a specialist doctor (another 6yrs at least), I will be throwing funding all over the place lol.
