You have no idea as to my reaction when I was going through the Thorin tags on Tumblr and saw that one of my all-time favorite Klaine writers was writing Thorin/Bilbo fic! I'm just glad no one was here to witness it!

Fantastic writing for someone who has not dipped their toes in Tolkien before! I am very very much looking forward to Chapter Two. You have captured Thorin so very well here! <333

:D :D :D :D Eeeeeeeeee, hello bb!! I am so happy beyond measure that this tickled your fancy, and that you were excited to see that I'd written it! (The lack of Hobbit fanfict is THE GREAT TRAGEDY OF OUR AGE, honestly, and I almost felt morally obligated to make a contribution.) Imagining your squee of pleasure makes me very happy indeed. <3

Thank you, love! Dipping into Tolkien for the first time was scary, but definitely worth it -- and I'm so pleased that you liked Thorin! Thank you so much for the feedback!!

How much do I love this? Why, I love it THIS much!

The characterization was spectacular, the pacing perfect, the tone lovely--everything was very well put together. You're telling the story I wish I could tell, and damn well, too. I just love Thorin's jealousy and Bilbo's semi-obliviousness . . . and the sense that the other Dwarves have some idea of what's going on--or enough to stay out of Thorin's way, lol.

This is going into memories, and I'm friending so I can keep up with this story.

Please make more soon. And by soon, I mean right now.

"Stew-like"!

:D :D :D :D :D <--- my face at this comment, seriously, kajdhslaksjhdkjahsdkljhalskhd!!!!

Thank you so incredibly much for the wonderful, kind, and thoughtful piece of feedback! I'm so happy that the structure and tone worked for you, and that it's the kind of story you want to tell. <3 (Confession: Jealousy is one of my FAVOURITE things to write and read about, and the facts that it's basically canon that dwarves are jealous and covetous creatures? Hnnnnnnnnnngh.) I think that some of the dwarves definitely have an inkling: it's not as though Thorin's been especially subtle. *nodnod*

SO happy that you're enjoying it, and thank you for the absolutely lovely comment! You made me grin from ear to ear!

(STEW-LIKE. :D)

Oh my goodness, hon. <3 Thank you so much for being so incredibly kind and choosing to read this even though you aren't interested in shipping characters from The Hobbit -- that's such dedication, and I'm very impressed!

"Your writing talent is insane, you could write the grocery list and I'll be here anxiously waiting to know what comes after milk." <--- KAJHDGKAHSDKjhslkdjhalkshdkajsdhjs, oh my GOD this made me so happy I don't even know what to say. Thank you. <3 You are beyond kind.

I'm so glad to be writing fiction again, too. :) Thank you for being amazing and sweet. So nice to see you again!

I have a great many Dwarf/Hobbit feels after seeing the Hobbit, and while admittedly I came away having more brotherly protective feels, the story you're building and creating here makes complete sense to my brain for bringing it to a romantic slant. So of course I'm greatly enjoying this and can't wait for more.

Also...Bilbo's voice is absolutely perfect and spot on. His wording and phrasing is spectacular and I can just see him and all his little tics and movements and how he interacts with Thorin (who's voice coincidentally is also superb)perfectly.

Great job and can not wait for more!

Haha, I'm so glad I could at least convince you for the length of this chapter to consider a romantic slant! <3 I mostly came out of The Hobbit with 'brotherly/companion/friend'-feels as well, but as you can see some shipping managed to make it into my head as well. SO glad that you're enjoying it so far, and that you decided to give it a try! It's lovely to see you again in another fandom!

Also, eeeeeee, thank you about Bilbo's voice!! I was a little uncertain about it when I was writing it, so I actually had to imagine Martin Freeman saying every line to make sure that it actually held up. XD SO happy it paid off!

Thanks so much for reading, and it's lovely to see you again, bb!

it's lovely to be reading your work again! to be honest, it's why I read it. I couldn't pass an opportunity to read your work again, and well i do love the hobbit and if any one could make me believe in a romance between Thorin and Bilbo it would be you so...
