Necrotic tissue!!

I got to watch (and assist with) an impromptu debridement today. Our patient had a DVT (deep-venous thrombosis, aka a blood clot) in her left leg that she had gotten surgery for. I know!! So exciting. What was weird was that the doc sat her up and showed it to her, too. Understandably, she freaked out a bit. How are you?

I'm enjoying all the experiences at my job, at least. :)

I am in town very occasionally. I came home in May, but only for a few days. I may have a couple of days at the end of August, but I don't really think I can afford to fly out. If I do crew again, we'll probably have a winter training trip to TX or something, but if I don't then I'll likely come home for the holidays. When I do come home, though, I will definitely call you and we can do the brunch thing, hopefully with a side of zombies. :)
