Letting go of my dream dress...

In fact, I went into the process of looking for my dress with visions of my own daughter wearing it on her wedding day. I know, I know, somewhat old fashioned and delusional, but I ( Read more... )

Meg-
First of all, great to hear from you. I kept wondering why I hadn't seen your posts and then I realized i must not have added you as a friend -- although I was sure that I had. Sorry about that! I hope to pick up where I left off going forward.

As for the dress -- thanks so much for posting! I looked into that site, but it didn't look all that professional, so I wasn't sure if people were actually able to sell their dresses there. Clearly, it does work, which is great news. I will definitely post it there. It's worth a shot.

Emily,

Your dress is truly beautiful and any girl would be lucky to have it, even for a 2nd time around!

Good luck selling your dress.

thanks! I will certainly keep you posted. I am, of course, having second thoughts, but I talked to my mom for a while this weekend and she fully supports me...so hopefully it will find a wonderful home somewhere else.

your gown is so stunning. any bride would be considered so fortunate to be able to buy and wear yours.

just one comment...

Authentic Vera Wang Wedding Grown -- Luxe Collection

change grown to gown.

otherwise looks great.

I have actually heard a number of success stories from preownedweddingdresses.com too, but also about people getting plenty of scam emails.

Thanks for catching that Talia! I haven't looked into preownedweddingdresses.com yet, but thanks for the heads up there too. Have you heard any horror stories about the scam emails? That makes me terribly nervous. The last thing I want is to get harassing emails or, even worse, scammed out of my dress...I will certainly keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

no horror stories. just the typical. someone wants to send a check and wants to send more than you are asking for the dress...

as long as you say that you only accept paypal, and only for the agreed upon price you should be fine.

Your dress was gorgeous. I love my Reem and the sparkle, but in many ways wish I had gone the lace route. I tried your dress on and it was stunning, and ANYONE would be so lucky to wear such a beautiful gown :)

Your dress is amazing, but you are right, it deserves to be loved again! You will always have the lovely memories and photos of you wearing that dress.
