I've some feelings that I can't get through, I'll just binge on crack and tiramisu

Killing time in the library, in between life-type woe sharing over hot chocolate with Salma, and attending some crazy activist meeting at the Basement. My absence from the entirely alternate reality of grassroots has been far too protracted, and I feel it's about time to return to the sort of meetings in which I can wander in half an hour late to ( Read more... )

I feel vastly swamped with work but at the same time, just not challenged at all.

Just like the person above, I feel exactly the same. I don't really know what I can add to what you've said in this entry, other than that I'm 100% in the same position!

I shant pretend to understand what your feeling being as I am one of the majority who never went to uni, however, what you've said IS understandable. I actually feel the same is true of school which is the reason I give for failing so miserably and subseqently not getting the opportunity to go to uni. Don't feel bad for feeling like you do, I dropped out of college twice lol

It's all part of the same system, isn't it? I was told after my GCSEs that A levels would require far more independent thought, then of course as soon as I got to that stage it became clear that was a total lie. Despite this, I still believed people's enthusings about university education containing far less spoon feeding, when in fact they're exactly the same. I feel so cheated!

The worst feeling would have to be overloaded with work yet the only challenge is actually getting it done. It seems so routine or pointless. I can understand that feeling being in university myself. At times I question its worth. I know whichever you chose, you'll be fine. Good luck with all of the work.

i totally agree with those above - and i'm with you with the consideration of dropping out. i'd do it, but the fear thing really has gotten to me... unfortunately, what i want to do requires the useless piece of paper.

how much longer do you have until you graduate?

I have until June of next year. Thing is, I adore much of the lifestyle of a student, even the constant penny pinching, and would be very sad indeed to have to leave it all behind any earlier. I'm just seriously beginning to question not my abilities, but my actual suitability for the world of academia. Methinks I may be a little too flighty for it all.

Good luck to you, anyway. You have that added motivation there, surely?
