Hmmm...Today was a good day with one hell of a bad start.

Well, I had a fight with my parents today. It was short lived but it still hurt that it happened. We all made up and worked out some of our issues. I have come to realize that I don't air out my problems very often...years to be exact, so when I do it's really quite awful. I'm glad to say that I'm not doing that anymore. I know it's just me imputting my advice where it is neither needed nor wanted, but here it is, regardless.

You have to address things that hurt you right when they happen with those who have hurt you. Dredging things up years later does nothing but infuriate and/or confuse the other party. Hurtful/unwanted behaviours can only be stopped if intervention is done promptly and calmly. Both parties need to be calm because yelling at each other rarely solves anything. Things, hurtful untrue things, get said in anger during shouting matches.

I'm glad your parents are accepting. I'm working on things with Mother, but we rarely see each other. Best of luck on learning how to address things promptly and not letting them build up.

I always want the advice of my friends, especially yours. I am addressing hurtful things when they happen more often than I used to. I had a talk with Hale yesterday about some of the things he says. I don't enjoy confrontation but I like violent confrontation even less so I'm working on things.

The thing is that I do have a temper and I sometimes have trouble keeping a grip on it. I really don't mean the hurtful things I say. That doesn't excuse me saying them but I sometimes do. I'm working on that too.

All I ask is that people bear with me while I work out my issues.

It's hard not to push things away and not deal with them for the moment. I've learned in the past that it always come back, whether you want it to or
not.

I'm glad that you realize this now and hopefully you can start dealing with stuff in a better way. Just hold in there. I'm sure you can do it.

I know you don't know me very well, and probably wouldn't want to -- but if you ever need an ear, I'm over here. (Or hell, if you just get bored)
