This week I had to conduct four interviews. The trials and tribulations of such a task makes me feel that I must have had 100. First I had to telephone prospective interviewees and set a time, sounds easy doesn't it? The first person was from another State. I'm really only posting this comment because I have uploaded a pic we took in Darwin and I think I'm very clever to have been able to get it up. Last month we went on the Ghan Train across the Australian Desert and Red Centre into the Northern Territory into Darwin. This evening is a great evening. This week has been a busy one and I'm glad we are half way through the week. Today was especially traumatic. I had to go to the Dentist, no really I mean it, it was traumatic. I was shaking when I reached the Dentists surgery, the receptionist expected me to be able to fill in the form in English. Usually on Australia Day Jamie and I head off for Perth to spend the evening watching the Fireworks over the Swan River. This year we decided we could be just as patriotic by spending the day with friends and enjoying a quiet barbecue. I am sitting here listening to Christmas Carols and I realize our English heritage is still alive today in the land of Oz. I know all the words to 'I'm dreaming of a white christmas', and 'dashing through the snow', yet we have no snow and the trees are not bare. Finally it came time to leave my job in K and pack up and return to Perth. Jamie made five trips during the week in our new Utility and on the last day we filled both cars and drove home. More on K the small country town I worked in. I remember it was very hard at first because Jamie and Nathan had to stay back in Perth until we could find accomodation for them.
