it's the little things that warm my dorky heart

Little thing the first! Not too long ago I ordered some patterns from Heirloom Knitting. She also sells plastic page protectors in A4 size. I thought "hm, yes, I should get some of those." Then last week I bought the Spinner's Shawl pattern from Fiber Trends. They seem to be moving to a new format, with color printing on somewhat glossy card rather ( Read more... )

You know, I am so jealous of your ability to get your knitting done. *g*

VIKING Playmobile! I want the Roman Playmobile that's available in Germany. If it ever gets over here, I will have an entire collection of it--and I don't even have a plan except that it's cool to look at and I want to play with it. ;-) The Viking runs a close second. *crosses fingers* that you'll get your mermaids...

Ooh, I haven't seen the Roman stuff yet. I bet you could order it from amazon.de, but shipping... Then again, the prices they have in euros seem to be a bit lower than I see in shops here when converted to dollars, so it might not be that bad a deal.

Hee hee. Everyone should have Playmobil!

Also, I feel compelled to point out that I'm not getting as much knitting done as all that. I've done 5 repeats (out of 23, then an edging) on a lace stole, but that's mostly by working two rows at a time here and there. And if Pip weren't off at school most of the day, I probably wouldn't even get that done.

He's not just smiling in his sleep, he's actually *giggling* in his sleep.

That is impossibly cute. ^_^

Page protectors are one of those good ideas that I never think to implement until I have shreds of paper I'm trying to read from. I do have a stack of the sleeves that Elann.com sends their receipts in, though, which is probably long enough for everything but that super long legal paper.

Also: sleep giggles? SO CUTE, wow.

One time Kathryn and I were in a toy store and we found the finger puppets near the cashier and one of us had three little mermaids and was swimming them around going "la la la the gold is so pretty" and the other had a Grinch (best we could do) and was going "grr. argh." I think we mostly finished before anyone else noticed what we were doing, though.
