a reason to be excited about 2012

But mostly, a trailer for Korra! I CANNOT WAIT.
Could the trailer be prettier? I still can't believe it won't be out until next year, but knowing that they're going to making it this gorgeous helps make the wait easier and I'd probably watch for this alone. ( More rambling about the trailer and spoilers for the show behind the cut )

And yeah, I totally agree about Avatar being mostly a boy hero show, even though I always thought that the point of Aang and Zuko is that if it was up to them alone absolutely nothing would ever get done? And the one thing all the girls did excellently at was getting shit done. ;) But you're right about where it focused and the end especially was very "Aang and Zuko build a new world!", even though I watched most of it as very much a team effort to get to that point.

I KNOW! :D Even if I didn't know anything about the original, I think what's come out so far still sounds fascinating as a concept. And I'm already being a little unfair to these new guys, because I really can't imagine that this is going to be anything but Korra's story and overall the balance is excellent towards female characters. Plus, you know, with these writers I might actually think they've heard people talk about no mothers or older women, and did something about it here. Not impossible! Which just makes me really ( ... )
