Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of my mother's death. I want to do something to honor her, but I don't know what. A friend told me once that her friend lost her mom also, and every year she would go out and buy something for herself. I might do that. Or, I might just go to Maymont if the weather is nice. Has this ever happened to you: You hear something simple, like a car going down the street or something, and it makes you think of a piece of music? Today, I kept hearing the door to the basement of the PAC closing, and it squeeks like crazy when it closes, and I could only think of Hyperprism by Verese.
