I agree with your assessment of next week's promo! For a split second I thought Sam's wounds there looked a whole lot like Lucifer's when he was melting through Nick, but likely - just coincidence ; )

Haha, pretty sure that's not the case, but - that's an incredibly cool idea. Love it. The possibilities!

So... Sam gets into an accident because of hallucination-induced insomnia, and eventually into psych?

I thought that's where they were headed with the truck! (and then I thought, 'if a moose that size hits a truck, which suffers more damage?)
Guess they're saving all the trauma for next week though, wheee!

Hee. I have to admit to being torn about the near-accident in this episode. "Waaaaait--is this how he ends up in his 7.17-state? But... the case? And not a hint of Hallucifer? SHOW I AM NOT READY FOR THIS."

... and nothing happened. :p

if a moose that size hits a truck, which suffers more damage?

It is a question that requires thought. Not much thought, however; it's a freakin semi.

I agree with pretty much everything you said here, especially regarding the preview. I share your same fear.

Dammit, show, I've been waiting for this episode since January. DO NOT MESS IT UP.

The preview has me worried that that will be the case. I think there was a screencap of 7.17 released recently (by whom, I am not aware) that showed the "Special Guest Star - Misha Collins" thing (presumably for fans who still couldn't believe it). In the background was a doctor. So Sam getting admitted happens pretty freakin early in the episode (presumably). IDEK. Waaaaaay too over-invested in this. :p

I've seen that cap! I was really hoping the committing would happen this week. :/ A lot of it is probably my impatience, but I also just...Idk. I think I'm too picky. I have very specific ideas about what I want to happen, so in a way, I feel prematurely disappointed. I'm concerned about Sam not getting institutionalized until the next ep because I don't want the whole thing to be this 42-minute pitstop, the whole thing condensed into one episode.

But I also don't want him to be locked up for like, the next four episodes. I'd be happy with a decent 2-parter...as long as it doesn't turn into the Cas and Dean show.

It's just...ugggh we never get hospitalized!Sam or worrychair!Dean and Show already squandered the opportunity back in 7.03...I just don't want them to do it again here.

It's okay. I'm too invested in it too. >< *clings*

That's it, though, isn't it? Not wanting this to be waved off in one episode, but not wanting Sam out of action, either. Aaah.

hospitalized!Sam or worrychair!Dean

I've convinced myself that the person checking on Sam with the flashlight in the screencap is Dean. I've even written a little fic in my head about it. MY MIND IS MADE UP OKAY.

I liked this ep. I liked how rooted the boys are in their job that one of them gets the urge to go ballet dancing and insteead of thinking "I can't mention this because it's embarassing" and having to be rescured last second they say, "Uh, I kind of want to put them on and dance = cursed object!", which makes sense.

Frank came as a suprise. Though with him being a paranoid bastard, eh might have faked it.

The promo! The promo is all about that one screenshot you have there for me. Sadly, it's all about Cas for almost everyone else... (Everyone wants Dean to give him a hug. If he does, I'll be so pissed.)

It amuses me to no end when the boys are matter-of-fact about their job, all the whacky and weird stuff included. It's one of this show's best charms, imo.

Honestly, the thought of him faking it hadn't occurred to me. It could be, but makes you wonder--why?

Well, in the preview, Dean does say something along the lines of "Somehow, I always knew you'd come back" to Castiel, and that, and the way he said it, kind of made me cringe. Just a little. I do want to him to blow up at Castiel at some point, but considering the desperate circumstances in which Dean will meet him, and that Cas is an amnesiac... things are complicated.

What I really want to know is what Meg is doing there.

So do I. Meg is an unexpected developement.

As a whole, I'll withhold judgement until I saw the ep. Or at least I'll try. (It's not always easy.)

I always watch with my friend Vikki. When they hit the 'Peter Yankit on Johnson lane with the porn' line, she was like "OMG THERE IS SO MUCH DICK IN THIS EPISO - oh wait there are leviathan in town, aren't there!?"

LAWL show has trained her well.

As FOR the leviathans ... Duh, this. Classic invasion tactic. HAVE WE LEARNED NOTHING FROM OLD MOVIES AND SCI-FI SERIES?! (V anyone? Yes? No?)

Aaaaah all of the dick references in this episode...

Classic invasion tactic

That would actually be kind of awesome. :DD Yes, yes. "Selling" the cure for cancer?

Okay, agreeing with pretty much everything here.

What I really love about the writers of this show (when they're 'on point'...little dance pun, there), is how they make you nervous for the Bigger Picture every time someone drives or picks up a teakettle or hell, every time the brothers part company! They've got us trained well. I'll admit the cancer thing made me "WTF??" out loud last night. Curiouser and curiouser.

I considered Frank might've faked his untimely (or timely?) demise too, but I ALWAYS guess wrong with Show, so dismissed that inkling as soon as it occurred to me. ;)

Cas' return, well, I do like the character and I'm wondering what's going on with the little dude, but when it all comes down to it, SAM INSTITUTIONALIZED. Please, writers, do this justice. Pleeeeeeease.

My stomach was churning through the teakettle scene, particularly as the camera lovingly lingered over sharp cutlery, the woman slicing up vegetables... *shudder* And then, the sense of impending DOOM the whole time Dean was alone and talking to Scott.

They've got us trained well

Yep.

Frank faking his death never occurred to me, honestly. It is possible (I certainly hope it's the case). Show loves to pile up the misery on the boys, though, so. :(

Please, writers, do this justice

Yes, yes, this. It's written by Ms Gamble though, and she wrote the brilliance that was When The Levee Breaks, so I have high hopes. :D
