Ok, if there's one thing all my friends have in common its that they all enjoy reading. And because you all like to read, you've all probably read some very good things and I want to know what they are. They don't have to be the greatest things ever written, but something that you've enjoyed and would recommend to someone else, well to me, really

First of all, "The God Delusion", even though you'd probably disagree with it and think that Richard Dawkins was a not-nice man. I have it on fairly good authority that he's actually quite pleasant, but doesn't suffer fools well. He thinks religious people are fools, so this book may not be a pleasant read for you. Still, a good one.
Next, "If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things" by Jon McGregor, which is heart-stoppingly beautiful. Also, "The Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro, which one the Booker Prize awhile back. Also a phenomenal piece of English literature.
I'd also highly recommend Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" or, in fact, any of his books. They're all excellent.
If you're into Sci-Fi, I highly recommend John Scalzi's "Old Man's War" or, if you're not into Mil-Sci-Fi, then his "Android's Dream".
And you're a halloween girl, so you should definitely check out H. P. Lovecraft and Robert Chambers, if you haven't.
