all you anti-war people...quit protesting just to have something to protest. you can't do a damn thing about what's happening so just shut up and show support for the men and women going over there to fight for YOU. you say the reason you protest is to get the troops home when in reality all you wanna do is protest bush. it's not fair that the ( Read more... )

i have yet to see someone protest with a good reason to protest. it's all just "fuck bush, blah, blah, blah, i have no idea what i'm talking about because i'm a fucking retard." maybe if teens would investigate the matter more closely and establish opinions of their own instead of being brainwashed by the highly liberal MTV we would have less teenybopper protesters. but what can you do? nothing. and what good is protesting going to do? none. has it ever made a change during any war? nope. so just stop wasting valuable markers and paperboard for protest signs...they could be used for school projects that actually require brains to make.

people are dying for your freedom of speech which all of you exploit daily. why not show alittle support to the great americans who are fighting for your rights, whether you're with them or against them?

and if all of you are so against america why don't you go join the iraqi regime or the tali ban and get blown away?

if america's so damn bad, leave! go to some horrible country and get caned for shoplifting. or be forced to bow down in worship to statues of the leader. geez! have a little gratitude. and mtv needs to shut the hell up. they are SO incerdibly biased it makes me wanna throw up. that gideon yago guy is the worst news reporter ever. i think we're doing an excellent job over there. there has been little to no collateral damage and we're getting the job done. i for one and proud of our country.

if those damn new wave hippies would take a min and watch CNN they would see iraqis greeting the american military. they were happy to see us...i mean they were dancing for christ sake and beating a picture of sadam with a shoe! does that sound like a country that is being "raped" by america? hell no!

it seems as if you haven't done your research either. Bush was a much better choice than Kerry, and as of right now, no we can't just stop the war, because we can't just tear down a country and leave. everyone makes protesting as something so menial, when they don't think of the many protests that got us to this "free" country anyway. And before you stereotype, I'm against the war, however, that doesn't mean I'm against my country, I'm thrilled I'm a US citizen. However, What was Rosa Parks point of her protest? Because it meant nothing when police could brutally beat blacks with no consequence? Protesting truely does nothing. Just like the protests of Martin Luther King Jr. and the numerous women who felt they had a place to vote and be able to work and earn the correct amount of wages. A lot of protesting doesn't do anything, true... but if we didn't have protests, we would still be in the 1800's state of mind.

Dear Anna,

I protested protesting the war today. It ruled. I had a sign that said "Shut up, Hippies" and "Bomb Baghdad." It was the greatest.

Adam -
haha good job! that's so awesome. i'm so sick of the damn hippies who are too busy protesting to educate themselves on what is really going on. if they watched the news they'd see they're we're not being crazy and salivating at the thought of killing as many iraqis as possible. i'm gonna do that next time i see some antiwar fags up at gsu.

i hate to interrupt this anti-anti-war bash, but i think everyone does need to think about both sides for one minute. personally, i think bush isn't going to get the outcome he wants or expects out of this war. it is a noble cause, is my opinion, to fight to right moral wrongs. but in doing this (without support from the UN, especially) we are putting fear in the harts of countries around the world. we're trying to liberate a country that hasn't asked for it. we're becoming Russia, in a sense. going around trying to free countries that don't ask for it and thereby making everyone else fear you and feel the need to protect themselves. and with the fear being spread around the world, fear a sudden "liberation" from the "great and powerful US" -countries will want to have a defense-meaning more weapons of mass destruction around the world- exactly what we're trying to fight. war isn't the only way. saddam isn't a DIRECT threat... he isn't one to brush off either. he needs to be controlled, but that's what the UN and inspections ( ... )

i take it as a personal insult when anyone says anything bad about this war. a stupid effing saddam supporter killed someone in the 101st airborne division last night and injured 13 others. he was posing as an honorable us soldier. he joined OUR army just to pull off something like he did. it could have easily been my brother. my brother is IN the 101st airborne division. he was lucky that they had not picked him up to take him to the camp (camp pennsylvania) in which these events took place. it could have easily been him or any of the people he has grown so close to through all of this. my brother is proud to do what he is doing. he is ready and willing to serve his country who has given him all the comforts that most of us share. i don't want my brother to get hurt or killed and know that it was in vain because people don't give a shit. i say blow the fucking place to bits.

P.S. at least we are giving them food and water and medical treatment when we arrive. and the iraqi P.O.W.s are being treated according to the geneva convention-with basic human rights. however, they are taking our soldiers, executing them and showing the atrocities on their television networks with pride.

First, I’m sorry you take it as a personal insult that I don’t believe our troops’ lives should be risked when it isn’t absolutely necessary. And it is an outrage about the guy killing someone and injuring 13 others- but he isn’t a reflection of the normal people against the war. And I’m proud of your brother and all of the troops over there. I’m not saying that they are doing anything wrong or that we shouldn’t support them. the people against the war don’t “not give a shit”- they, or I at least, want our troops home. And about what the Iraqis are doing to us- we declared war on them, that’s what happens when countries are at war. People, innocent people, die. brutally. They break Geneva Convention agreements, we disregard the policies of the UN- it’s all in the name of war. tit for tat. And did I ever say I supported saddam or his regime? No. but that doesn’t mean we should jump into war with them. And how can you say “blow the fucking place to bits”?! that’s just as cruel as saddam. I understand that this is a million ( ... )

i, nor anyone else on this journal called YOU anything. you jumped in after all those things were said. nothing was directed towards you. no one said YOU get your information from mtv. no one was debating with you anyways. you decided to put yourself in it and allow yourself to be called those names. you yourself said you weren't completely against it, so anti war fag or any of that would not apply to you anyways. i'm just a little angry right now that they're breaking laws of war and our own soldiers are risking my brothers' life. i wasn't comparing war protestors to saddam supporters. the man who threw a grenade into the tent at camp pennsylvania WAS a saddam supporter. i should know, it came straight from the horse's mouth considering it happened to my brother's brigade. my family is dealing with a lot right now and its great that you don't care ( ... )
