Three-Day Weekend

My friend Kathy, who has followed me down the path to impending retirement, has become a fan of the three-day weekend as the end of the school year approaches. Though I hadn't taken a day off since Iggy died in January, I had two personal days to squander before the end of the year and decided to take one of them today. I'm partial to Mondays as my Mental Health days. ;)

The trouble with days off is that one is never enough. I do so hate Mondays, but I find it easier to get back on track when I take Friday off. The kids forget I was gone and are ready to get started with the new week.

*Sigh* 23 days to go.

Today was blissful, except for that patch of poison ivy I think I discovered. I sure hope it didn't discover me!

I can hardly wait to be retired.

I'm with Rene. I've been retired for two years now and I'm enjoying it way too much and am way too busy to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. Just enjoy the moments and stop worrying about being valuable or occupied.

Howdy stranger! Long time no see...

I still remember something you said when I was beginning to consider retirement: "I don't know anyone who is retired who would tell you not to do this." I'm glad you're still enjoying your retirement!
