I just finished watching a movie called "But I'm a Cheerleader." and found myself filled with a number of feelings. Many of which were squeely, clappy, yumminess

Perhaps the best way to approach this is by first asking what you believed I was? Bio male? Bio female? Gay, straight, lesbian? From there I may be able to better put it in perspective for ya. :)

It wouldn't be the first time someone has made that assumption, probabally won't be the last, I am gay, just not in the sense that most people think of. I identify as being a lesbian. I am very much interested in women, however it is the gender that I identify with that is a bit mucky.
Normally I'd write you a very long post about this but work beckons. In essence I identify as being a girl/woman, and always have. Even before admitting it to myself. I'm very slowly going through a process of transitioning which will take me through androgyny and finally to appearing more appopiately to my gender.
The girlabomination journal was made to explore this journey. :) Hope that helps at least a little. for now however, I've gotta scoot.
Hey, I saw that movie a while back (about a month ago) for the first time, and I felt good after seeing it as well, even though I saw it in the dorm I am in and the girls around me were like 'ew' and all immature. It was rude, and they must have forgotten that I am a lesbian. I am the only lesbian here, so I felt even worse, but I still loved the movie, especially the character Jan. Though she wasn't in there for a long time, or had much to say, she still seemed complex to me. I couldn't tell if she was telling the truth about her sexuality and that she had never been gay, or if she was saying that to be 'normal'.
Thanks for your response hon (This is the same person as EmpathicDesign, I'm just too lazy to sign out of this name for the reply). I take it you followed me here from GayGirlSeattle?
It's strange because the more I see movies like "But I'm a Cheerleader" the more foreign heterosexual kissing seems to me. I'm not sure if you can relate. Actually observing it in a sweet, romantic context fills me with a sense of peace that just sort of says "This is where I belong."
