Hi, all. I haven’t been writing much here, mostly because my seasonal job in purgatory retail has been sapping my time and energy. In truth, it’s not a bad job. The people I work with are, for the most part, nice and helpful. There’s always more than enough to do, so the time passes quickly. Alternative lyrics are a comfort. One I like of The Little Drummer Boy: I have an irregular heartbeat, pa-rapapa-pum!

Another comfort (of a kind) is recalling that it's just as bad the rest of the year. I rarely buy new clothes and then only from Marks & Spencer; other rag trade retailers somehow imagine their target market to be aged 14. They play, loudly and constantly, the most horrendous pop radio crap, complete with asinine DJ. Why? How can they think it's good for business?
