First - I'm so sorry about your mother. No matter old we (or they) are, it always hurts. Second - how wonderful that you are right back where you started (or where you were when I first "met" you) and living so close to your daughter. That's wonderful. The house will get sorted out eventually. One of the nice things about being old is you can do a bit at a time and then rest and nobody accuses you of being lazy. :) 2021 was pretty sucky for almost everyone, contrary to what we'd all hoped for when 2020 ended. Holding out hope that 2022 will not do that to us! Welcome back.
I lost my mother in late 2019 and I still miss her every single day, so you have my deepest sympathy. But how cool that you're back in her house! I'm in a different house but more than half of the furniture was Mother's and it's such a pleasure to be with her things even though I can't be with her. I hope once things settle down a bit you'll feel the same.
Oof, what a lot of renovation you had to do, though. Good luck with the rest. I wish us all a very happy new year -- we deserve it.
My condolences about your mother. It sounds like she had a wonderful family and an equally wonderful Thanksgiving.
I don't envy you the packing, emptying and modernizing your house, and all of the EXTRAORDINARY amount of work you've put in this year! I hope nobody's travel plans got canceled because of you-know-what. Thank you for the update. Fingers crossed 2022 is less arduous.

I am happy to hear that you are back home, down the block from your daughter. Full circle indeed.
Good luck with the renovation and cleaning of your new home.
