I'm so sorry about your Mom, but how lovely to have spent so much time with her and to have such lovely memories of her. She sounds like a lovely person and what an amazing age to reach!
The house sounds like a project! Well done for getting a lot of it sorted out in such a short time.
So sorry for your loss. It is a very, very hard time but it sounds as if you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with her and what a joy that she got to meet her great-grandson. She sounds an amazing woman and a wonderful mother to have had.
My parents had lived here 30 years and the house was crammed with stuff.
I see your parents 30 years in their house and raise you my parents 50 years in theirs. Until you have done it I don't think anyone has any idea of the extraordinary mixture of sadness, nostalgia and massive irritation that clearing someone's house entails. I was torn between weeping over things and screaming "why did they keep this". Having to clear your mother's apartment on top of that must have been really awful.
Have as good a Christmas as possible and a proper rest.
Oh, my dear. So much good news here. Yes, good news. Very sorry about your mother but it seems she had her apotheosis before departing with all her family around her.
I’m so glad you’re back in your home place.
I know something of what it’s like. My mom passed in September and I’m due to get her apartment emptied out by Jan 10. It’s a lot.
I am so sorry to hear about your mum. My brother was with her when she died, and I was with Dad, so was glad that they weren't alone. I do still miss them , but am thankful for lots of happy memories.
Mum & Dad were hoarders, but so am I, so it was a case of transferring as much as I could here ;) In the end we had a charity do the final clear out

And my sympathies about all that stuff, I clearly remember doing all that. The estate sale people and the junk removal people were my friends.
