Doesn't seem like too bad a lesson to me, that well behaved men and women never make history.

Survival, generally, if we're talking childhood to adulthood. Dumb luck exists for the people that step outside of the directions they're given but it's not the sort of thing to be rewarded. [Mozenrath hates dumb luck :|]
