Blessed are the cheesemakers?

So, has anyone on here ever made cheese? I'd like to give that a go this year. I'm already planning to pickle and can when the yard and farm start producing.

You know, in case the zombies come.

Isn't that what we have Mennonites and Amish for?

Making cheese is long and stinky process. Ive seen it done by Mennonites. I still eat cheese today, despite that fact.

I'm told mozzarella is easier though.

Cheddar is just grief.

erm, I know someone who does. contact me privately (use the email on my profile, LJ or something I'll recognize in the subject line) I can put you in touch. I *think* he only makes he soft cheeses, though. If you're looking to preserve milk you'd want to do the hard cheeses as I recall.
