Some of you may have heard, two EMTs were critically wounded on Monday in Nyack, Rockland County(Lower Hudson Valley), NY. One, 19, sustaining a head injury and the other, 20, more seriously injured, losing her arm.
I've received information from other sources that the 19 year-old driver (the head injury) was fiddling with an Ipod at the moment of impact. He was also far from critically injured, but that's the media for you. All dramatics, no substance.
At the private I used to work for, neither of these two would've been driving. Not old enough.

Regardless of age, mishaps, and company policy, we have two less young EMTs on the road right now. We have two young MOS adults in the hospital right now. We're not accident investigation, lawyers, or a court. I'm not sure what your point is either way

The articles are an interesting read. NO charges against the truck driver (which from what I read, is the correct way to go). The truck was out of the way, and the ambulance was the moving vehicle.
Will there be charges against the ambulance driver ??? I wonder if there will be a follow-up article about that. ...... Not to make light of the injuries ... BUT what must also be remembered is that an ambulance is no longer available for service to help save lives. .... I hope there is a good investigation... most of all, I do pray for healing (physical & spriritual) for the passenger
