"You've got a message, Kens."
Pulling it out to check for herself, she rolled her eyes a little and murmured, "Thanks, what would I do without you?"
"Someone has sent Kensi a text?" Her partner, Deeks, looked up from a file box of paperwork with a grin. "Hot date?"
"Not with you, Deeks," she replied, smiling as she read the message. Motorbike Sam. Nice. Callen, because he was being his playful self, made a grab for her phone. Kensi casually elbowed him in the ribs and side-stepped, locking her phone again before crossing to her desk.
"Ow," Callen said, nodding wisely as he rubbed his side. "Bet she has a date."
"Don't call it that," she said, a bit too sharply as she reached for her keys and her backpack. "'Night, boys Play nice while I'm gone."
A cry of 'Kensi has a dayyyy-ayte!' followed her out the door. She huffed. Men. Was it any wonder she didn't usually make it passed her first date? There were other reasons, of course ( ... )
