Secretly, each human believes that it won't happen to *them* or the people they love.

I think it's more that...people hate being powerless. If there's someone they can yell at or lash out at, it means they're not as stuck with it, or they can feel that way.

Accepting the inevitable is something a lot of people just won't do well. *sad little smile*
