Who is the compassionate party again?

Check out what the left side of the court just did? Kiss your homes good bye if a local developer can pay a big enough contribution to an official. Fucking morons.

I blame the democratic SCOTUS members who voted to a member to give LOCAL goverments the right to sell your homestead down the river for other PRIVATE interests. I am so mad right now I could shoot someone. This flys in the fact of the constitutions intent and I am so sick I puke blood over their choices to interpret the document. This makes all the bitching about the patriot act look like a fucking dimple ass old lady tea party. Our fucking homes John. Bob the local dipshit who is on the take from a developer can make you sell your home to make room for a new mall now. This is orwellian levels of unbeliveable ( ... )

This is a fair comment, and now that my blind killing rage at yet another foot of freedoms sliping by is down to a simmer I do agree. They are however the more liberal side of the court and good lord! I expected better of them.

Soooo, I guess this means we don't have private property in the US anymore? I mean, if the government can force me off my land so that a private developer can erect a non-government controlled mall/hotel... that pretty much means I have no real property rights.

The belief that we live in an "ownership society" is about as believable as we're a country that truly believes in a "culture of life". The domain of the state is honestly whatever the state decides it can get away with at the time. Both sides of the ailse are guilty of it, and the only way to curb it and keep it in check, other than TR's idea of bloody revolution, is to vote the mofo's out of office when you feel they've stepped over their bounds. It's not perfect, but we do have the opportunity to overthrow the government every 2 years in this country.
