To add onto your discussion of the discrepancy in the rape storyline. Assuming, we are going to believe Logan's version, too, even he saw Veronica leaving with Duncan after he put GHB in his drink. Why did Duncan leave Veronica with Dick? Or when exactly was Veronica feed all those shots? Someone is lying. Or RT actually committed his first major booboo, and in looking at all the small unneccessary details of continuity in the writing, I can't see this. Just last week there was Loretta who was mentioned way back in the PILOT, and people flipped out that something like that was even referred back too.
RT knows how to write his show. I just ain't buyin' that he'd screw up the second major plot of the season so horribly.
On TWoP, someone made a potential timeline of the events that night, and I must go back through the bizallion pages on this episode's discussion thread and find it to see if things add up more with that. Right now though I have a paper to finish. Ugh.
I think we have exactly polar opposite opinions of the rape. My points, organized because I'm obsessive-compulsive like that:
1. The non-rape as a cop-out: I don't believe that the non-rape is a cop-out. It would've been easier and less controversial had it been a random 09er, Beaver who believed that drug-induced Veronica was coming on to him, etc. I think making it a major character (a potential sibling, no less) was the "best" outcome in terms of plotting a TV show.
2. Continuity: Beaver did not go back to Veronica after he threw up. He left her there. Duncan did not bring her to the guest bedroom, he found her there after Beaver left her. He "rescued" her from Logan, and they parted ways, while the drug was working through Duncan's system and Veronica was being toyed with by Dick and his friends. Someone even made a chronological video about it. We don't see why Duncan leaves Veronica (or she leaving him), but I don't think that's important. It's a party. People wander around, especially when both parties are high out of their

#1: Ours is simply a difference of opinion. I felt it was a cop-out, because for me, the ending was unsatisfying. But that's to be expected amongst different viewers.
#2>#3: I need to rewatch that scene. Duncan was on top of her, yes. But did Carrie see her moving?
#4: ... I'm running out of time. So I'll address this later.
