It is a sad day for the entire world.

I think I'm going to cry.

Oh it isn't that sad, shhhhhh.

I'm looking forward to channeling all of my energy into some REAL change, not some scam of an election. We all made the mistake of believing that this election would be the end of our worries, the light at the end of the tunnel.

But all this election proves is that those of us who actually do want to see America change have a long uphill battle before us.

Bring it.

jared, where do we go from here? what do we do? do we really have the courage to make changes or are we just all words? do we have any real power? how long are we going to allow so few to be in absolute control of so many?

you're right about kerry - he never inspired me. i never felt happy about giving him my vote of confidence... i never put his bumper sticker on my car. he didn't move enough of us, he wasn't resolute enough, he was just more of the same, but a little less so.

i'm terrified. i feel lost, defeated, worried. i'm checking out canadian citizenship requirements. take care of you.

come on Orlene, don't be a quitter.
Ever read the Tao te Ching?

Opposition

To reduce someone's influence, first expand it;
To reduce someone's force, first increase it;
To overthrow someone, first exalt them;
To take from someone, first give to them.

This is the subtlety by which the weak overcome the strong:
Fish should not leave their depths,
And swords should not leave their scabbards.

haha looks like you remembered parts of our conversation from last night...

What is the point of being down? All it will guarentee is a miserable life for you. I'm depressed because this election actually seemed to be legitimate unlike the last one. People really did vote for Bush and it's obvious why. They didn't think. All they heard was George Bush saying, "god bless america I love red white and blue!"

The fall of humanity is going to happen, religions predict it, hell, even Nietzsche predicted it, this world is obviously heading toward it... So what can you do? Walking around with your head in shame? Or living your life the best you can?

I've realized long ago that I cannot save the world, I can only save myself, I will try my hardest to do what I can in order to help out with my concrete life around me. Lets hope for the best, but not hold expectations.. Lets just live the best we can under this fucked up administration.

I liked this post Jared.

listening to thisamericanlife pretty much summed it up. A republican guy longing for bill clinton to be a candidate, even though he would have never voted for him when he was running. There are millions of Americans out there, and these two are the best we can come up with?
