[Legato hadn't exactly been hiding since his arrival. He'd been...waiting.

Waiting for this delusional dream to end, waiting for someone to try and remove him from the apartment he'd claimed as 'his', waiting for something--anything--to make sense. ...Waiting for instruction, perhaps.

When he finally realizes that waiting is turning out to be ( Read more... )

[Well, it's good Legato is out at night, because that's often when Yuber decides to wander around himself looking for potential victims. He's starting to feel a need for some bloodshed again, so the village is a good spot to go look.

And catching a glimpse of Legato, he's watching the man from the vantage point of a nearby rooftop for now. His presence shouldn't be hard to pick up at all though.]

[he can feel the ping of yet another mind appear... and the fact that it's coming from a rooftop is interesting. For now, he'll wait and observe, focusing a little of his attention on that presence, 'watching' closely]

[Rooftop is pretty typical for this demon. It grants him a slight advantage over most of the villagers. That will likely become obvious if he decides to teleport down from the roof.

But for now, the demon is continuing to observe. He's looking mostly for signs that Legato can in fact defend himself, or might hold an interest besides being Yuber's next victim. He knows this description matches one of an interesting New Feather, but that doesn't guarantee it is indeed that person.]

[when he doesn't feel Yuber move away, turn his head and shift his attention elsewhere, Legato can accurately guess that he is the source of the other man's attention.

After a moment, he moves, turning his head just enough to glance up in the direction of the man's rooftop perch. Looking perfectly at ease with being watched in such a predatory way]

[Rose's shift at All Passions has just ended, so she's heading home now. Since it's nighttime, she isn't sparkling and generally looks like any other passerby - aside from the unnatural beauty, that is.

When she crosses Legato's path, she doesn't bother giving him a second glance.]

[Legato passively tracks her as she passes, and decides that she seems like a decent representative sample of the residents here. So, patiently letting her pass a little ways down the street, he gives a little test. Like batting at a toy. There is no lingering mental presence, just slipping in through the bars of the mind to tug at the controls of her legs, and slipping away in the next instance. Just to see what happens. If she detects it, it's akin to catching the glance of something out of the corner of one's eye. Something that she can only be partially sure was actually there. He's aiming for her to stumble, maybe trip over her own feet a little]

[Since she's not really keeping an eye out for mental intruders right now, she doesn't notice when he invades her mind. Rosalie does stumble, and she immediately stops walking she does. Vampires don't stumble. She's in her physical prime and she would have detected a rock a mile before she could trip on it. So, she looks around, trying to determine who would cause her to stumble.]

[he'll watch for a moment, closely observing her reaction, pleased with the fact that this test seems to be a success. It felt right, normal, like there wasn't anything wrong with his ability. ...Which, makes the fact that his mind still feels hazy and blinded potentially more disconcerting]

[An awkward roommate situation back at the apartment he's claimed keeps Hitsugaya out as the sun sets. He has no destination in mind, nothing he needs to do. He's simply wandering, to eventually make his way toward the riverbank for awhile.

Killing time until such time as he can go home and everyone there will (hopefully) be asleep is his goal. Have a wanderer with dark thoughts, Legato.]

[though he can't peek in and read the wanderer's thoughts, the person's posture, the way they move, tells him more than he needs to know. That much itself is of some interest, and so Legato waits, watching him a little while longer as he passes]

[Hitsugaya keeps moving past, only realizing he's being watching after he's passed Legato. With so many New Feathers lately, the overload of the new and different souls has him a little unsure; it's almost overwhelming to have so many new all at once and he's kept a tight leash on that sense. Perhaps he shouldn't have, if he was going to miss someone watching him. He stops and half-turns toward the man, eyebrow raising. Could be a New Feather, but Hitsugaya hasn't met everyone who was here before either.]

[feeling the other stop and notice him, he decides this warrants a little more of his attention. Raising his head just a notch, he fixes the other with a more direct glance. Just silently watching, unperturbed that he had been caught at it]

[Observing, huh? What a coincidence - that's exactly what ν-13 is doing as well. Unlike Legato, however, she's opted to hide near the corner of one of the buildings, passively watching the people passing by. Mainly because she's on the lookout for a familiar face; someone whose presence she hasn't been able to confirm for some time now.

Eventually, she'll take note of the blue-haired man's presence, and her gaze lingers just a little longer than it normally would. Didn't the man Vash had warned about through the journals apparently have blue hair too? ...Hmm.

She won't actually say anything just yet, however, preferring to simply observe for the time being.]

[he's been observing her from his place for a little bit now, and picks up when her head turns and lingers. He wonders if she's looking at him, is tempted to just step into her mind and see for himself, but... well, he doesn't feel quite confident for such a brazen step just yet.

so, instead, he raises his head just a bit, enough to glance in her direction]

[...Huh. She honestly didn't expect him to notice her - most people don't, after all. But she won't look away once he glances in her direction; rather, his glance is met with a rather blank look, though there's a faint hint of curiosity evident in her expression.

Blue hair... and yellow eyes, it seems, although it's a little hard to tell for sure from where she is. He certainly seems to match the description Vash had given out over the journals. And going by what Vash had said, he sounded like an interesting person, if apparently dangerous. So if this is him...

...Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to observe a little longer. So that's what she's going to do - continue to watch from her hiding spot with that same look as before, as if waiting for him to do something.]

[waiting for him to do something? Alright. After a few moments, a somewhat weary monotone voice slips toward her mind as he drops his gaze downward again. ...Nothing too intrusive. Just a voice.]

...Can I help you?

[Wolfwood had been coming back from a simple drink at the bar, and casually walked the path with crucifix bobbing characteristically in the dimness of the evening. The lights of the village lit the world enough to see, but he did not yet notice the presence of Legato; too busy pulling a lighter from his back pocket and starting up yet another cigarette.

Old habits, y'know?]

[a familiar presence. This is something he hadn't expected, he immediately doubts his already faulty-feeling ability, glancing up quickly to confirm it with his eyes.

...well. What an interesting turn of events.

pushing himself to his feet, hands in pockets, Legato slips through the shadows along the sides of the building and heads off in the direction of his old friend.]

[Wolfwood can already feel something wasn't normal. He's from a world where you simply cannot chalk it up to imagination or paranoia. He's learned over time-something like this, he doesn't just magically feel, even after a drink or two.

He stops where the forest meets the main section of the village, one hand in his pocket, the other pulling at the crucifix propped against his shoulder... looks over it as he narrows his eyes.]

Who is it?

[He feels it in his gut, but... could it be he was just losing his edge? No, he couldn't doubt that feeling. And even if it was just in his mind, he knew Legato was around, knew Luceti housed other dangers.

If he was wrong, no egg on his face.

And... if he was right...]

[there is just a touch of a smile on his face when he feels Wolfwood detect him, several moments before he even says a word. A shift in his stance, hesitation in his motions... all satisfying. It seems the priest hasn't lost his edge, in death.

Finding Wolfwood here, with a poetic set of wings perched on his back. It was almost too much.]

[just a touch of dark amusement slithering in, from his place off in the shadows] ...And they tried to tell me that this wasn't an afterlife.
