A Tale of Dragons"Gather around, children," she said, nestling in her privileged spot near the fireplace. It was a windy, rainy day and the three girls and one boy were beginning to drive their parents crazy. It was too cold and too muddy for them to play outdoors, and the wind was howling with the promise of overnight snow. The siblings jostled ( Read more... )

*sniff* That's a sad but beautiful story...

Let not your hungers rule your lives, for you too might die unsatisfied

Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I really loved where my mind brought me this time. I'm having a great deal of fun with this new writing group.

Perhaps they do! Interesting parallel to conservation and the threat of extinction of certain species.

Thanks so much for reading my little fairy tale. Long ago, in the depths of time, I wrote a story called "Dragon Seeks a Wife" which was published in an anthology called "Dragonology" by a small publisher. It was a fun story to write, and in that story, I had a Quetzel bird featuring a major role. They popped back into my head for this tale, thus the dragons and the birds - although in a far different tale.

And mankind strikes again.

Such a sad story. But then I read Dragon Seeks a Wife, and I smiled with pleasure. I'm glad you had that to draw on when you decided to write A Tale of Dragons. Nothing goes to waste, does it?

Thank you for both stories.

Thanks so much. I found it rather fun to write about my dragons again, but this is at the end of their time in our universe, the earlier story was in their heyday.

Thank you so much. I wasn't sure if it tied into the prompt enough, but that's what came to me and I loved where the dragons took me this time. Today is a cold and rainy day - I wish I was sitting at a fire, listening to the storyteller wend her next tale.
