To my Amherst friends...

Though new Scrutiny's not nearly done yet, I think it's actually to the point of some usefulness.

Please, please, check it out and tell me what you think...it's a work in progress, mind you:

Any comments you might have would be HIGHLY appreciated...I want this to be good.

There are some problems with the look of the search results page. Also, the list of results for your search should include the semester and year which the results are from. Is the "search by ratings" feature not coming back? Also, how will people submit evaluations to the new scrutiny? I don't see a submit link anywhere.

I'm working on the submit pages as we speak--it should be up shortly.

Among the things I was supposed to do was nix the search-by-rating feature...so I didn't re-implement it. I never though it that useful, myself--and my employers didn't either, it seems.

The ratings pages are now actually include *all* sections of a given class taught by that teacher since 2002. I'm considering putting in tables broken down by year and semester into the class-ratings page (and the comments include the semester and year they refer to).

I probably ought to make the class-ratings page a little clearer...any suggestions would be great!

I agree with having tables broken down by year/semester. Even when the same prof's teaching a class, I find it more useful to see what level of work, etc. was assigned most recently than just having the unlabeled ratings from the last several years. (people do change classes...sometimes, specifically to make them less work ( ... )
