He was wandering around the hotel, lost for any idea of what to do. He couldn't turn back, and being small was bringing up all sorts of strange, forgotten sensations and memories. An empty, blood-soaked battlefield, a grove of blossoming trees that even he could not name, the sensation of burning under his skin, his face, his ears.

He reached the outside of the hotel while still pondering these thoughts, and caught sight of the playground. Someone was already there, a little girl with brown hair. As he watched, she ran over to a strange contraption of chains and a seat. She sat on it and used it to swing back and forth, smiling as she did so. Hesitant but curious, he approached, standing to the side so as not to be hit by her legs.

He shifted uncomfortably. "Is that fun?" he asked, for lack of anything else to say.

"Yeah!" she said, grinning broadly, slowing down a little so she could talk to him without shouting. "Swinging's the best! Do you wanna do it too?"

He blinked at her, then nodded mutely, dodging around her to get to the other swing. He sat on it, then frowned. He tried kicking his legs, but it didn't get him very far. "How do you do it?" he asked, feeling frustrated. His feet barely skimmed the ground, so he couldn't very well push off.

"Let me help you!" Aerith replied, beaming at him. She slowed her swing and delicately stepped off, then ran around behind the small boy. With as much strength as she could, she pushed him, starting the swing's back-and-forth arc. "Try kicking now!" she said. "Put your legs out when you go up, and in when you come back!"

As Trucy always kept her promises no matter what, this promise wasn't so bad. As long as the Host didn't plan any funny tricks, playing outside with her new friends would be great. Besides, since nobody could negotiate with the Host, she just had to take life in Enlever Town as it came.

Running down Mortis Street and rounding the corner of Strage Lane, though a little frustrated with how much longer it took her tiny legs to travel, Trucy spotted a jungle gym, swirling slide, merry go round, and even swings! On one of the swings sat her new partner in magical superherodom, Aerith.

"Hi, Aerith!" Trucy called with a cheerful wave. She raced over and almost tripped before hopping onto a neighboring swing. "Aren't these fun?"

"Hi, Trucy!" Aerith called, waving to her friend. "These are the best! We had these in Midgar, but they were always broken or in a bad area or whatever. I can play on these all day and never be scared!" She leaned over, her eyes narrowing. "Have you seen any bad men around?"

"Midgar? That's on your planet called Planet, right?" Trucy said, kicking off the ground with her small boots and pumping to move the swing. "Swings where I'm from are broken, too, and basketball hoops, but people still play on them."

"Nope, no bad men!" Trucy replied, with a bright smile. Still, a good investigation needed facts. And since she wasn't really seven anymore, she had to admit that she was now something like a detective's assistant. But that was a side job to magicianing. "Do you know what the bad men look like?"

"Yeah! It's where I grew up. It's the best town in the whooole world, 'cause it's got everything you could ever want there! Where did you grow up, Trucy?"

Aerith shook her head at Trucy's question. "I don't know - tall, I guess. And usually their faces are covered so you can't see them and know their names! But I don't think they're here, 'cause no one's chasing me."

Vincent hadn't been too happy about waking up younger, but it did have it's advantages...somehow. He'd figure that out later. Right now he just pressed his hand to the wall as he went down the stairs. On edge, but excited about being able to play. He hadn't had fun in such a long, long time.

Walking through the lobby, he looked around cautiously and once he was outside, a grin spread across his face. Flicking his scarf over he shoulder, he ran up to the two people by the swings. One he assumed to be Aerith.

"Hello!"

"Vincent!" Aerith cried, slowing her swing down and getting off, running over to give the black-haired boy a hug. It was something she'd never dared do when he was a grown-up, but he was smiling now. "You have a nice smile," she informed him. "You should show it more often!"

He stiffened at the hug a little but quickly relaxed when she stopped. Ducking his head and blushing as he stared at the ground.

"It's...just easier now...Y'know?"

"I know," she said very seriously. "It's funny how much freer you feel when you're so little, isn't it? Like a big, heavy thing's been lifted off your shoulders? But," now she was grinning, "you're here now, so let's play! What did you wanna do?"

Chrono had wanted to avoid going out at first, but the more he watched the playground, the more he wanted to go out there and have fun with everyone else. He'd mainly been watching from the shadow of the hotel as more and more children drifted over, and now that there were about four out there, he made his slow, cautious way over.

He really hoped they wouldn't make fun of him since Big Brother Aion wasn't here to beat them up and he didn't want to be a Bad Boy and beat them up and hurt them cause hurting people was wrong cause Mary had told him so. "Hi." He squeaked shyly, offering a wave.

Aerith slowed down swinging and looked at the new arrival curiously. She didn't recognize him, and she was sure she'd remember him if she'd met him before. His purple hair was so pretty!

"Hi!" she said, stilling her legs so her arc eventually lessened. "You have such pretty hair!"

"Hi!" He said again, feeling a little better now that he'd met someone friendly. "Thanks, you too!" Chrono glanced up and down the swing set and chose an empty one. He started swinging, leaning back and forth a little bit to give himself more momentum.

Aerith beamed at the boy, pleased that he'd complimented her hair. It was her crowning jewel, after all!

"I'm Aerith!" she said. "What's your name?"

It had taken him a long time, but Sasuke had finally ventured out of the hotel as carefully as possible, his attention unable to focus on one thing. If he stayed in there too long, would the shadows have gotten him? He scowled and shook his head, continuing towards the playground quickly.

When he got closer, he saw a few other kids there and it made him stop, biting his lip between his teeth. His hand lifted, touching his hair before he moved a bit closer, deciding to climb up onto the slide and sit there to watch the girl on the swing and the people that were near her.

They all seemed really friendly, but he never was too trusting anymore.

Aerith saw the dark-haired boy approaching slowly and watched as he made his way over to the slide. It made sense; the swings were full. She didn't recognize him, but decided to change that.

"Tell me what the slide's like!" she hollered over. "It looks like fun!"

He looked up from his spot atop the slide when he heard a voice, dark eyes staring at the girl before he bit his lip again.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, he pushed himself down the slide, letting out a slight yelp at how quickly he went down.

Once he reached the end, Sasuke held the edges of he slide and smiled just barely. ``It is!``

"Oh, yay!" Aerith slowed her swinging and then jumped off her swing, and ran over to the boy. "Can I try it? Would you mind?"
