I'll start by saying that I'm a yoghurt fanatic...but I don't believe it should be drunk! I'm a purist I guess.
I have actually burnt a play list that I believe defines my "happy" times. And happiness for me is apparent when I and those around me are relaxed with a good wine and a warm (but not hot) temperature. Everyone seems to like my mix! So I've got about 14 tracks that basically carry a familiar theme. There is a lot of Astrud Gilberto, Stan Getz, Al Martino and a bit of obscure ambient stuff. Also two tracks from Goldfrapps first loungy album "Felt Mountain". I think it's because my parents were swinging sixties British hipsters who spent there time partying in Spain and Italy (and the music of this period permeated my life), and growing up in Europe in the very early 70's...when music had a "Bond'ish" sound to it just brings back some really nice memories.
We're on a similar vibe then already. I like a lot of fingerstyle guitar (due to previous strong influences in my life), folk with a hipster-y twist, ambient, funk, groove, acid jazz, quirky screwball music, stuff with messages, stuff with vocal appeal, stuff that speaks to me and just takes me to pretty unexpected places in my own brain and emotional makeup. My parents have the 60s gentle rock thing going on, but they also listened to big band and swing style stuff (torch singers and the like) way after it was out of style. That's why they were very amused when I got into ballroom and swing years ago... we had another thing to bond over. Musically, I am all over the map.
