Yes, indeed, you've got right under his skin.

I especially liked the part where he states he's learnt that people are dangerous, causing "pain, humiliation and fear". I can understand exactly where he's coming from if he really believes that.

Excellent commentary. I really like your insight into Snape.

The ending hit me particularly hard:
If he has learnt nothing else in the course of his life, it is that people are dangerous. They do little but cause pain, fear, and humiliation, and he has had his fill.

Snape has experienced forgiveness once, after he realized he had committed the greatest mistake of his life.

It did not come from himself.
