Well, I voted.

I voted for Obama. I hope I don't come to regret my decision.

I realized two things over the last few days:

1) One of the reasons this is so hard is that it's the first time I've ever felt that my primary election vote actually mattered. Usually, the contest has been over by the time I voted.

2) I like the idea of Hillary more than I like what ( Read more... )

Were you in the district with the Donna Edwards vs. Al Wynn primary for US House? I can't figure out that district map, it's very strange, it does seem to have some areas very close to you.

No. Al Wynn used to be my representative, but after redistricting, that's no longer the case. Chris Van Hollen is my guy. :-)

Did you see my list of Obama links? In particular this one: Judge Him By His Laws.

I have a hard time calling either of them smarter or more knowledgeable than the other. They're both very high in both categories. I also don't think any legislator starts out knowing how to actually get things done as president (and we've never seen how being a presidential spouse translates), but I think Obama's legislative experience is actually longer & stronger than Clinton's.

I went the other way, although it was a very difficult decision. Ultimately the potential long-term societal benefits of a female president tipped the balance for me as there were things I liked and things I didn't like for both Obama and Clinton in relatively equal numbers.

It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out.

Dunno if hotpoint mentioned, but I have some maps and animations of the impact of the primaries/caucuses on the delegate totals (pledged delegates only) at http://election.loquacious.org/2008-presidential-primary/ if you are interested.

I voted for Kucinich for president. Because I had to.

But then I split up the delegate votes, with 75% going to Obama and 25% going to Clinton.

And, Cos, *I* am in the district with Wynn vs. Edwards. We have an Edwards sign on our lawn, and are very much hoping she'll pull it out this year.
