Miguel, having had one unfortunate encounter with his mirror, is sticking to the edges of everything. Maybe mirrors are all like that. He doesn't want to risk it.

Which is why he's so glad to see Jade! "Hola! May I sit with you?"

[deadshuffle]

She looks up at him, confused. Does the ground say Property Of Jade Harley? No. So why is he even bothering to ask? The mirrorself shrugs and goes back to watching the game. She doesn't really care if he sits or not.

Whoa. Did he do something wrong?

He sits, though further away than he might normally. "You alright, Jade?"

[deadshuffle]

She stares at him from the corner of her eye and then takes a sip of her drink before feeling the need to answer.

"No."

[kch_kch]

"Are you sure? You seem, um...surlier...than usual." Which is to say, surly at all.

[deadshuffle]

"The answer to that is simple," She turns toward him, "I'm not the real Jade."

[kch_kch]

Stare.

...Stare.

Stare.

Blink.

"Oh...oh my God..." he stammers. "But you look just like-- well I suppose my mirror looks just like me, but-- but this is...I mean, I can't believe..."

He cocks his head to the side. "This is amazing."

[deadshuffle]

There is no remark. She sits there silently, looking at him. It's not amazing, impressive, or anything of the sort.

He scoots a little closer, giving her a good once over. Geez, if she hadn't been carrying herself so differently he never would've guessed. "So-- so have you been here as long as she has? Do you-- do you know my mirror?"

He's probably going to regret asking that.

[deadshuffle]

"No. I don't really talk to the other mirrors." Because she is usually too busy dealing with John or making sure Dave doesn't break his neck. God she is like a mother or something.

[kch_kch]

"That must get lonely," he manages, although part of him is just relieved that she doesn't have anything to say about his mirror. The man seems...sick.

"Is that why you're all the way over here?"

[deadshuffle]

"Maybe." She takes another sip of her lemonade.

"And the view here is nice."

[kch_kch]

"I guess." He looks back at the board. The best part of the view is that he can't see his mirror. He just hopes Jade can't see him with her mirror, just in case that'd upset her. He'd rather explain first.

"So what do you do for fun on the mirror side? You guys seem pretty, uh, excited to be here..."

[deadshuffle]

"We do what we want like you guys, unless the Queen tells us otherwise." Simple and short.

[kch_kch]

"Of course," he replies, and then, "But what about you personally?"

[deadshuffle]

"I'm mostly with John." ...Cleaning up after him anyway.

"And Dave after he arrived."
