The earthquake was slightly alarming, but it didn't seem anything that was going to completely destroy the building they were in at the moment. However, with the whole after shocks and the lights was something tiring by after a few hours. Conan had noticed how some people seemed to be acting slightly oddly than normal, but he wasn't sure if it was of the event or because of the situation they were in.

As for Conan himself, he had slowly began to feel slightly odd, lonely as well. He started thinking less about the situation now, and more about his home, his situation, the people that he had seen die. He tried to shoo that away from his mind, and focus on the now, but when he let his guard down, a wave of... some feeling came over him.

He sighed, trying to get some sleep in between the after shocks, but it was proving to be hard.

The day seemed to stretch into forever. No matter how many people Minato talked to, everyone seemed to feel the same way to varying degrees. There wasn't anything he could do or say to make the feeling of despair completely fade, but distracting himself from it seemed to be the best solution for now.

Minato was wandering back to his futon, not knowing where else to go, when he saw Conan. Another tremor made Minato wait as he steadied his footing, and once it was over, he went to sit down next to Conan's futon.

He didn't say anything though if Conan wanted to sleep. But sitting here with someone was better than being alone.

Conan noticed that someone had come by. Opening his eyes slightly, he checked who it was. Seeing it was Minato, Conan sat up and put on his glasses. If it was anyone else, he probably would've hesitated a little more on talking with the other.

"...Hey, Arisato-san." Conan gave Minato a small smile.

Minato looked over to Conan and smiled a little. It didn't take too much effort to do that. As mature as Conan was though, Minato didn't think the detective should have to go through this. No one should, but Conan, as far as he knew too, was younger and his friend.

"Edogawa-kun. Trying to sleep?" Maybe sleeping through would be easier too.

If only Minato knew how old Conan really was... But if Conan started thinking about that, then he would've really started having an identity crisis and this risk of him becoming liquid by the third day would become much higher.

"I was, but it wasn't really working. ...What about you?"

Minato shook his head. "I haven't tried." Which he thought was odd for him since he did like his sleep so much.

"How are you feeling?"

Well it couldn't be helped really. It would actually be a bit worrying if someone could sleep through this with no trouble.

"I'm...doing fine. What about you?"

Of course 'fine' was probably an understatement.

"The same. Others might not be though."

Minato looked around the shelter and the atmosphere was heavy and oppressive. Or whether he thought that on his own, he wasn't sure. Something had to be wrong. This feeling was far from normal.

"It...seems like it yeah," agreed Conan, also giving a quick scan of the shelter as well. It was definitely like the Mansion that was usually at place.

"Do you have any idea what's going on?"

Minato shook his head. But give him a couple days, Conan, and he'll know soon enough.

"Not yet. But it shouldn't last too long."

Those couple of days will probably feel long to both of them.

"Probably. We'll just have to wait it out." Conan wrapped the blanket around him, it was feeling a little chilly, it seemed.

It will. Very long. Too long, really.

Minato helped to adjust the blanket around the detective. "Did you need another one?"

"Thanks, but nah, I think I'll be fine with this for now."

He wasn't lying, and even if he did need another one, he wasn't going to tell Minato that. It was obvious what he would do.

"....I sometimes forget how long one day can be...Especially if it's hard to tell."

Minato nodded and looked up around the shelter. It didn't matter how many times he tried to look for any, windows weren't going to magically appear. Minato had his wristwatch on to check for the time, but it got absolutely mind-numbing to sit and watch the seconds hand move along the face of it.

"Time should move faster with company."

Minato smiled a little at Conan, thankful that his friend was there with him.

"Let's do something. Maybe I can find paper and something to write with."

And Minato was probably the best companion to be with at the moment. Conan didn't have to act too childish, Minato was intelligent, and not too noisy (like one of this friends back at home......).

Nodding, he took out his notebook (that Minato had given him). "I have a notebook and a pen. Do you think that'll be enough?"

Minato smiled a little more when Conan produced the notebook. He was pleasantly surprised, given the limited number of personal items they ended up with, that Conan had the notebook in the first place.

He nodded, and took the pen in hand. "It'll give us something to do."

Since Minato's narrator is far from Japanese, she hopes it isn't completely fail that Minato wrote down a word so they could play shiritori.
