This are a couple titles from the list of books I recommended to Melissa a while ago:

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Mark Haddon, excellent narrator)
The Black Jewels Trilogy (Anne Bishop, awesome fantasy)
Stranger than Fiction (Chuck Palahniuk, very odd short stories)
Biting the Sun (Tanith Lee, neat writing and interesting story)
The Crime Studio (Steve Aylett, really damn hilarious)

The Glass Castle was quite good.

Somehow I just couldn't get into The Lovely Bones, even when I was 3/4 of the way through....

Hey Kelso! I just read a great "inspirational"/mood-lifting book. It's called "Eat Mangoes Naked" by SARK. Also, "The Memory Artists" by Jeffrey Moore was a great book. It's about a character who has a condition labelling him as a hypermnesic synaesthete (someone who see words as explosions of color), who takes care of his mother who gets Alzheimer's relatively young in life. Good read. It's a thinker.

Hooray for the end of semester!
