The "big puppers" (as DS put it) are safely back in their enclosure after a good couple of hours out. I imagine any doggos on the trails will be going "What is that smell?!? Nope, biped, turn around, nothing of interest down there" and herding their humans away.

Running into a stray wolf would make for too much excitement on a morning hike and no mistake!

I am delighted to know they exist in the world and do not want to meet one except under extremely controlled conditions!

Wolves! How exciting! Provided they are at a distance and stay there...

They have names! Which they responded to when their carers realised they'd gotten out, and came back to praise and probably some venison - there's a serious deer overpopulation problem on the island, and they're allowed to collect any that have been killed in collisions with autos. (At least the meat isn't being wasted -)

They were cubs taken from the wild and then abandoned, so associate humans with food and safety and can't be returned. :(
