An atmospheric river is being predicted, and it's being told it needs to swerve Skagit Valley and thump the Peninsula instead.

Those daffs! How beautiful! Kind of like the Keukenhof fields of tulips...

and travel is like riding a bicycle. You never forget once you recover your sense of balance.

You have a tulip festival! That takes me way back to the annual Tulip Festival in Holland, Michigan, just down the road from where I grew up. Memories...

It might be a day trip but you're staying overnight somewhere! And that makes it proper travel.
I saw your little post about all your stuff here being imported to DW. That's quite a feat!

Skagit Valley is a big producer of tulip and daffodil bulbs, and iris rhizomes. I have been to Holland, Michigan, as a Very Small Epi - we were headed for the dunes, I think?

If you have to take a toothbrush, it's a proper trip. :D
