Friend PM, her spouse and offspring met us at Hierophant Meadery on a happily rainy Friday evening; when we walked in, the adults were well into a tasting flight and B. had a mug of nettle tea. Many hugs were exchanged, as we'd not seen each other since Christmas. There was only one other table occupied, and we had a lively time making joyful "Wait ( Read more... )

They do not happen often, but I am very happy when I can spend time in the same space as my friends. And I have edited the entry to include a link to the recipe.

What an exciting evening! Your lifestyle is so very different from our both-of-us-introverted-to-the-nth-degree one. I love reading about all your outings.

Sunscreen is... complicated. So many ingredients can be harmful to the environment, or to our internal organs, or both, or neither, or or or. The US treats it as a drug, where Europe considers it a cosmetic, and I don't know which is the best methodology. Me, I'm just waiting for the magic pill that grants us UV immunity while still letting us make vitamin D. LOL

Most of the time we are at home!

ISTR Bruce Sterling had something like that in Islands in the Net. It would be a lot less fuss!

In Europe I think we think of sunscreen as a necessary prophylactic! No not that sort!

Actually both my moisturiser and make-up (when I wear it), contain factor 6 sunscreen. You are right, we would never think of it as a medication, but then we have strict laws about cosmetics, so sunscreens are heavily tested anyway.

I use a factor 20 in the summer, whereas all of my daughter's family 'more or less bathed in factor 50' to quote C, when on holiday in the Med!

*giggles at your first sentence, because I am 12*

I used to be able to buy this at Target, but no longer! And they won't ship the SPF products to the US. PM will bring home jars of it, along with their factor 50 stuff in a tube and some of the factor 30 lip balm.

Oh I really fancy "Witches' Spice for Punks" ! And Ginger Pear - that would be lovely for Christmas.

The olive il cake sounds really good too - thanks for the link.

Why do so many of my people like chillis? *wails*

The cake was so good - you must try it and tell me what you think!
