Dairine has never been an easy sleeper. Her family used to say she spent the whole night fighting with the blankets, and it's true; more often than not she wakes up in the middle of the night tangled in them, or having thrown them off the bed entirely, her limbs all twisted up in the sheets. So far, Al and Edward have been nice enough not to say anything about it.

"Yeah. Just... insomnia," he whispered. And then, he inhaled sharply, and reached for his shoulder again, cursing under his breath. Normally, it was a dull aching. Tolerable, if not irritating. It was the occasional spike like someone pinching on your nerves that made these times difficult to live with.

"Okay, Not insomnia, really," he ammended, "But it's no big deal."
