I went to Thanying at the Amara Hotel yesterday for dinner with K. My advice is - don't bother - it's a travesty of Royal Thai cuisine, and a costly disappointment - one can get much better in Bangkok for half the price....

literally, as I am currently in this resort 1,150m above sea level 1 hour from Chiangmai.
